I found out today that one of my favorite books from early high school, The Perks of being a Wallflower, is being made into a movie with Emma Watson!
I'm so excited. That book meant so much to me when I was 15.
I thought I would use this opportunity to list some of my favorite young adult reads.
1) A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty White
2) Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist By Rachel Cohn and David Leviathan
3) A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle
4) Cruddy by Lynda Barry
5) When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead
How about you? What are some of your favorites?

Great post. I had so many favorites, it's hard to think of them all right now. The Phantom Tollbooth, Caddie Woodlawn, and all the Ramona books were wonderful. There was a book called Wait til Helen Comes that scared me silly when I was little! I love going back and re-reading old favorites.
ReplyDeleteI remember Wait til Helen comes! It was about a little girl's imaginary friend and they lived near a graveyard. It was spooky!
